The procedure for upgrading Humax software, (both original and modified) differs slighty for for the HDR and HD models.

HDR Fox T2

  • Download the firmware and, if it is a zip file, extract it;
  • Rename the resulting file as HDR_FOX_T2_Upgrade.hdf and place it in the root of a FAT32 formatted USB Disk (flash or externally powered);
  • Put the unit into standby using the remote or big button on the front;
  • Make sure that the unit has completely shut down by listening for the hard drive to power down (accompanied by a click).
  • Plug the USB disk into the front or rear USB port;
  • Turn on the TV and switch to the Humax input;
  • Start up the Humax using the big button on the front;
  • The software update should begin automatically and the progress shown on the TV screen.
  • When the update is complete End will appear on the front display and Download Successful will appear on the TV.

HD Fox T2

  • Download the firmware and, if it is a zip file, extract it;
  • Name the resulting file as HD_FOX_T2_Upgrade.hdf and place it in the root of a FAT32 formatted USB Disk (flash or externally powered);
  • Put the unit into standby using the remote and then physically unplug the device from the mains;
  • Plug the USB disk into the rear USB port, first unplugging any connected hard drive;
  • Turn on the TV and switch to the Humax input;
  • Connect the Humax to the mains;
  • The software update should begin automatically and the progress shown on the TV screen.
  • When the update is complete End will appear on the front display and Download Successful will appear on the TV.
